Enric Mas: "One big day to go"

Enric Mas (Movistar) is still leading La Vuelta 26 ahead of Primoz Roglic (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe, +1’37”) with two stages to go.

“To be honest it was nice [with all the attacks at the beginning], it was a big war. We always got somebody with me, so I think we had everything under control. Sepp [Kuss] and Richie [Carapaz] really wanted to go, more for the stage I think, but they are a bit close in the general classification so we had to control them. I think my team did a super good job. Two days to go. [Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe] already pulled really hard, but at one moment we wanted a bit more speed so we went there in the front and we put our rhythm, then Richie and Felix [Gall] came also and they worked to go a bit more. One big day to go, I think it’s one of the hardest in the Vuelta so we have to be concentrated like during these three weeks.”
